People often ask me how I got started making soap. The idea came to me when I worked for Landmark Healthcare, an alternative healthcare provider in Sacramento. I started researching nutritional supplements when I read about the work of Dr. James Duke, the botanist and author of The Green Pharmacy, among others. He wrote that there is a phytochemical in rosemary that may help prevent Alzheimer's disease.
Since I knew I wouldn't eat rosemary on a regular basis, I asked myself, How can I incorporate this herb into my body on a daily basis and not take a pill? That's when the idea came to formulate body care products using natural herbs and botanical oils.
From there, I overheard a mom talking about her child's eczema, and how much scratching and bleeding her young son was enduring. I did my research and formulated a very moisturizing body bar. After reviews and trials by pediatricians and dermatologists, the body bar was approved for production.
I am so happy when our products help people. I am constantly researching herbs and botanical oils from around the world so that I may find just the right blend for you ... my customer.
And where did the name Bella come from? My husband's first dog was a beautiful German shorthaired he named Bella. On our small farm we also have another German shorthaired, a golden retreiver, a very independent cat, and a dozen or so chickens.
